Tides

As I walk back up to the dunes I feel strangely elated. I find the bag I'd buried in the sand, pull out a towel and dry myself, all the time watching, breathing, loving the view. The North Sea. Brown in colour, but a sight that has always comforted me.

For the last few months I've returned to the beach. London changed me. The road, the pressure, the hype, the commercialism. I needed to find the single most important reason for doing anything- enjoyment. And I did. A 10 minute warm up to the beach, half an hour barefoot on soft sand, 10 minutes back. No races. No pressure. Enjoyment.

The sun was low. The beach deserted. This was the next step.

I'd toyed with buying a paddleboard, maybe spending a few hundred quid. Then I came across Keith Malloy. All I needed was , well nothing. I could swim naked if I so choose.

I want exercise, but not competition. I want to be in the moment. I want to take my time, look around, enjoy. I can't find that on the road or track. I need nature. I need awareness. I need change. I'm no great swimmer. Have no ambition to swim great distances or great speeds. Just to enjoy.

I Am Awake.

One of his students asked Buddha, 'Are you the messiah?'.
'No', answered Buddha.
'Then are you a healer?'
'No', Buddha replied.
'Then are you a teacher?' the student persisted.
'No, I am not a teacher'.
'Then what are you?' asked the student exasperated.
'I am awake', Buddha replied.

I move , watching the ocean, feeling the heat of the sun. Awake.
Down the coast ,to hidden beauties, for free nights of nature.

The sun goes down. The winds pick up. The sea breathes an intermittent roar.
I wake early. See the midsummer sunrise. Then doze.
The rains come. I journey home.

To Lakeland Peaks we roam.

Guided by the wings of a phoenix, we move towards Bowfell. Stepping on stones. Stepping on stones.

We move towards the roof of the Kingdom. Stepping on stones. Stepping on stones.

To the top we rise.

Then down, to savor the gifts of the valley.

And dream of alternative lives .

A new day begins with angelic smiles.

To welcome friends and challenges new.

A weekend of views, laughter and smiles. To all involved- Thankyou xx
